Beachside Quilter
You so sweet, Darlene. You know you are one of my heroes! Hope the directions make sense, it really IS easy and quick! One of the ladies in our group made hers with Christmas on the pieced side and Valentine's fabric on the reverse. Now that's smart! Happy Holidays! Vickie Oliver Beachside Quilter APQS Rep SW FL

When is Antique's Road Show coming to your area? Maybe you can bring the lot in and be on TV! PS Don't pay attention to Darlene... she is sucking up! Judi
Vickie - very nice collection of machines - love the artwork on the boxes too!! And the table runner is too cute as well - good idea to double side it for a different holiday - smart thinking. thanks for the directions - makes perfect sense. You could run an online class someday with this. Then we could all take photos of our different projects and post them! Love to see the same pattern worked in different colorways and such.:cool: Thanks for posting the photos - lucky you to have such a helpful and talented man too! Beachside Quilter
Thanks, Judi. Please note that I have "edited" the directions, about 1/3 total fabrics needed not 1/3 yd each. I was told the directions have been around for many years, but this is the first I have seen them. Make one up and see how quick and easy it is! Happy Holidays! JustSewSimple
Vicki, you sweet girl, I did this top in less than one hour! I will quilt it out Tuesday!!!! What great Chrsitmas or birthday gifts! You are a doll for posting directions!!!! This table "arrangement" may look strange! It is! This is my foyer. I am teaching classes here and the foyer is where I set it up! Yipes, what a mess huh?
Beachside Quilter
Love the colors, Sylvia! What are you going to put on the back? Are you teaching a class on this project? My guild leader will be so impressed! Be sure to post pictures when you have finished! Vickie Oliver Beachside Quilter APQS Rep SW FL
JustSewSimple
I have a light yellow I am going to use for the backing and some left over batting. I am teaching beginning quilting here at home to some young girls in their 20s and early 30s and we finished one quilt top and they wanted to do something quick (it won't be as quick for them, ha) before Christmas that they could give as a gift. I decided to let them do this runner (thanks so much for posting it). This is going to be my sample. I will quilt it out on the DSM so as to show them how to do it. Beachside Quilter
That sounds wonderful, Sylvia! Great idea to teach them on the DSM. It is so small they can easily do it. I found the turning and pressing to be the most time-consuming part of this project. Please post pics of your group progress as you can. Can't wait to see what you all accomplish. Judi
Wow!! that was quick - now more will learn from this - how cool is that?! Thanks for fixing the directions - they did make sense to me without cut and seeing what would have been left over, just make another one!

JustSewSimple
My girls start on this tomorrow! I had to quilt this out on my DSM so it took forever.
Beachside Quilter
Great job, Sylvia! Kind of makes you remember why you wanted a longarm, right? Yours turned out great, and it will be nice for your group to see how they can quilt theirs at home, or maybe your can turn them on to APQS!! Blue Wren
Vickie! Just wanted t say a big "thank you"for the table runner instructions. I made a Christmas one today & although it's a bit rough it looks ok. I couldn't figure out how to load it on my machine (might need those instructions) so I quilted it SID on my DM. It has certainly brightened the table!
Beachside Quilter
Jenny: I have small "false leaders" that I pinned to each of the points on the long sides of the runner. Then I carefully (whew!) stitched the panto. It bounced around a bit and I ran off the side a couple of times, but it turned out okay. I wanted to take it to the guild meeting so only had a few minutes to quilt it and also the "holly" panto I used went with the fabrics very well. Working from the front would probably be easier. I was also thinking you could quilt the pieced top only with a big piece of batting, quilt the bottom separately the same way (thin batting, or maybe fusible batting) and then sandwich the two sides together, and top-stitch the edge after you turn it. So glad you enjoyed the pattern! Post pictures when you can!
JustSewSimple
Vickie, My students LOVED doing their runner! It is an easy project with a loud punch. They will just stitch in the ditch and use decorative stitched down each V. I'll remember to post. If you have any more great quilty projects, please share. Beachside Quilter
Sylvia, SO happy for you and your students. No, I am not known for "quick and easy", LOL, I told the group leader that I NEVER finish anything in a class, and this was so easy that I did! I will share your success story with her, she will be delighted!!
