cjtinkle
I really have no idea how I managed to get this crooked border on a perfectly square quilt while I was quilting it today... but I did. Should I just go ahead and rip the row out, or email the customer with these photos and see if she would prefer I leave it and give her a discount? It's for a child, so it's not like it's a show quilt... however her work is quite meticulous. What type of discount would I offer if that's the choice made? My gut says just rip it out, but I'd sure like opinions from you more experienced quilters. Thanks!
doodlebug
i wouldn't worry about it....especailly since it's not a show quilt. once washed it will be unnoticable...but that's JMHO
lnieland
I'd probably unstitch and try to straighten it. I hate frogging, but I'd most likely do it.
SandraC
I think it looks fine. Is it still on the machine? Once it's off, it might relax into straightness. Are you sure it's you...maybe it was like that and you didn't notice
LibbyG
That's a lot of work to rip out. I'd take it off, send the pictures to the lady, and give her the choice of ripping it out or taking a discount. Figure out how many hours it's going to take you to rip out as opposed to offering a discount. The lady might be happy with the discount. At least it would be her choice. cjtinkle
Oh it's absolutely my mistake, the quilt was perfectly square. I've only quilted 4 passes of it, so it's still on the frame. I'd have to remove 2 passes... probably 4 hours of ripping? I don't mind offering her a discount, I just don't want to ruin my reputation! Although I think it looks pretty bad, I think Shannon is probably right and it won't even be noticeable when it's washed.
delld
Personally it took several times looking to figure out what was uneven. If it were my quilt I would leave it. Once washed who would ever know! But knowing it is someone else's, I would call her and let her decide.
SYork
I just spent about 8 hours this week ripping and it isn't fun. Do you have zippers on your machine so that you could take it off and look at it? If you have to rip it out, you will not make money on this one so a discount would be better for you. Quilting Heidi
I would take it off and see if it still looks as bad. Are you sure it was absolutely straight. If she is so meticulous I'd bet it would bother her. I can't lie it would bother me. I'd frog it if it doesn't look straighter off the frame. JMHO. jeri
I have zippers so I'd probably unzip and lay it out. Sometimes it can look wonky on thr frame and just fine off. If it is wonky I'd rip and re-do
cjtinkle
I slept on it... and have decided to rip. I do have zippers, so there's that at least . Thanks everyone for helping me decide!
