MCramer
Now to embarass myself! I don't do math! I've gotten this far on a Tree of Life medallion, but don't want to finish the same as pattern. So, what size squares do I need to finish this on point? It measures 22 3/8 inches square? HELP PLEASE! tia
doodlebug
if it finishes at 22 3/8 (including the brown sashing right?) the setting squares size would be: (2) sqaures cut once diagonally measuring.....17 1/4" if 22 3/8" is the size it is now...finishing at 22 7/8" the setting square size would be: (2) squares cut once diagonally measuring....17 1/4" hey- it's the same.... this will give you some wiggle room on the points of your tree- trim it down to exactly 1/4" for the seam...or leave it floating.... clear as mud? MCramer
Thanks Shannon, I came up with 17 1/2", wondered if that would work? Just dont trust myself. Now i know why! I'm usually wrong!
witha'K'quilting
17-1/2 would work. It gives you a small bit for squaring up. You figured just fine.
Judi
I agree - would much rather have it bigger and trim a bit off later.... so I always add in extra!
