victoriasews
I could use some advice on how to quilt this gathered border and 3D bowtie centers. The border is 2 inches so just SID won't be enough. It is a cute quilt, just stumpifying.

delld
I don't about the rest but that border I would do panio keys and that would hold it in place and wouldn't mess with the gathering! Good Luck!!!
yolanda
Why not do SID around the gathered border, and then put a design around the outer and inter borders. Yolanda
doodlebug
here's my ideas- i'd use a yellow that matches the background for the whole quilt... SID that ruffled border i'd either do a loopy meander in the sashing/background or that flower design.... then i'd just do a fancy CC in the bowties... fun quilt! Busy Quilting
Go with the flower them of the very centre. Leaves in all the sashing strips, then put a small flower in the corners of the bowtie blocks. Don't put anything on the 3D centres as they seem samll and they are a pain not to catch on your foot. As you SID the ruffle both sides then put some slender grass like leaves into the rufflefrom one side. Lyn
Quilting Heidi
I would definitely SID the border. I like the idea of piano keys to nail it down. I agree that 2" unquilted is probably too much. I like what Shannon did on the bowtie a lot but I would stipple or stipplish the background so that the bowtie really pops.

LadyLake
I would do 2-3 lines horizontally through the ruffled inner border to make it look like pintucks.
