caryas
Does anyone have any good ideas on what to use for a batting trough? I have dogs who shed so I would like to keep my batting off the floor. Any suggestions would be great!
cblevins
Hi! I made mine. I just took a wide piece of fabric long enough to go from leg to leg and sewed ties on all 4 corners to tie to the frame/legs. It looks like a hammock and works great. it is about 5 inches off the floor when tied up. Good luck!
Primitive1
I did the same with muslin and just kept it folded in half and put velcro strips on each corner to hook over the ends of my frame. easy to remove when you don't need it and keeps your batting and quilt top if you float up off the floor. Lynne in Iowa
I use a huge purple table cloth that I bought on clearance for $1 sewed button holes in each corner to put some string through and tied it to my frame. I have no idea why I bought that table cloth at the time, I don't have a table that size, plus it is VERY purple. But it was only a buck!
ffq-lar
Do a search from the beginning for "sling"--as in batting sling. You will find a multitude of options. Doodlebug has a great one and my DH made me a fancy one with scrap wood, an aluminum pipe, and some muslin.
CrazyAboutQuilting
Linda, what a great idea! If you don't mind, I think I'll show my DH your picture...........he's one very handy guy and is always willing to make things to help with my sewing/quilting addiction. When I want the sling out of the way, I pull the pipe ouT and then place it up in the crook of the legs. Then the sling is collapsed and out of the way. Let me know if your DH has questions--we'll let the guys talk to each other!
Bonnie in Ok
great idea ! I have one question why do you have extra holes in the board?

The pole slides out and I can have it at three different levels or "at rest" in the angle of the legs. I used pony clamps to fasten it to the rails so I can launder the sling--I've done that twice so far.

JBQuilts
Has anyone with a lenni made one? If so, how did you attach it? Not the 2010 lenni or newer; I think their table is different.
