suzanp
Tonight Gert the Flirt has no beep-beep, as much as it seems funny, it's not!!! The light is blinking but the sound is gone!! Is this bad? The stitches are great, everything else seems to be working fine, should I worry?
Borderline Quilter
Suzan...you will never believe this happened to me too, just the other day, Thursday....Like you say, just the blinking light and it was very strange! My Millie sent me to Coventry???? Next day she had her voice back as usual and all was fine with the world again.....but it was very strange all the same and I am wondering what caused it???? suzanp
OH Kay, I feel better, everyone says that the beep bothers them, but once you don't have it, boy is it ever strange. Hope it will be back tomorrow!! Wonder if it's the humidity!!!
Busy Quilting
Sometimes I wish I could silence the beep, but it is always comforting to know it is there. Sounds strange when you hear other machines without it and makes you wonder are they stiching non regulated? After our Machine Quilting Festival last week I am wondering why some machines you have to switch down the speed to SID??????
suzanp
I still have no Beep beep, when I turn her on it starts then nothing.... bad?
DawnCavanaugh
Suzan, Don't worry about the beep; it is strictly a reminder that the SR is active. If the little speaker on the circuit board gives out, you may lose the beep. We can show you more about it when you visit us later this month. Redgate
If you work out why the beep has stopped please let me know so I can silence mine. Marlene
ffq-lar
If you work out why the beep has stopped please let me know so I can silence mine. Marlene As Dawn stated, the beep is a safety feature so you don't stitch over something you don't want to (blood is so hard to get out of fabric! ). APQS would never recommend you to silence the chirp, but you can mute it a bit with a few wraps of electrical tape around the chirp box. It's under the hood towards the back. That said, the reason it makes you crazy is you really only hear it when you stop to think about your next move! It's off when you finish a pass or need to tie off. But when you're thinking it's very distracting. So, when you stop to think just turn it off with the touch of a button. If you start with your needle down, it will be down when you stop and then it's easy to plan your next move, push two buttons, and continue your stitching. This advice from an oldie who finds the chirp to be music to her ears!
suzanp
DAWN, That is one of my big questions!!!!! and by the way it is still not working, but I look at my blinking light and all is fine for now. Miss the little birdie!!!
klwheeler
I have gotten so used to it I tune it out while quilting. It no longer bothers me, and it did when I first started quilting with the Millennium.
Carol Hartman
I must be used to mine also, as I don't even notice it anymore. Turn up the music a little. That's what my hubby says when there is a noise in the car. Carol, Pgh, PA
Dustee
I don't notice the beep beep either. I listen to 50's music, pretty loud, while in my studio. That may drown it out. LOL
