What should we do? OT

Recommended Posts

Thanks you ladies.  The only thing that keeps me from slipping away even for one day, let alone the night, is I can't get all my med equipment in and out of the van.

The oxygen concentrator, the cpap, the batteries for my go cart, or the go cart it's self, etc.

All too many times, even lifting a dinner plate, glass of milk (12oz) or a cup of coffee hurts to much to stand for long.

I neither can walk around.  Most stores I want to go to, don't have the motorized cart.  Even the walker can be a painful task on the best

of days.

ROFLMAO, I'm a wreck but not rent-a-wreck !!!   :D

We were a the hospital at 8 this morning for his first appt. then he had another at 9:30 and another at 11:30.

Not enough time to drive home between appts., then I had another at 1:45  for pre op workup.  We fianlly got

all that done and ate on the way home, and both of us had a late night last night.  So heading for my Jammies,

and a dish of homemade ice cream and an hour or so for watching Ghost Adventures, if I make it that long..

and let my cpap lull me to sleep, Very early.  Am hardly awake.

Thanks ladies..   Will give an update if anything should happen..

HugZ all..

Rita,

What an exhausting day of dr's appointments.  I hope that you did curl up in your jammies with a bowl of ice cream in front of the TV.  Sounds like you earned it.

I'm so glad to read that you will get away to Boone for a couple of days.  A chance to see a granddaughter and the opportunity to fondle some fabric sound good to me.

While your body is challenging you, it is clear that your sense of humor is fully intact.  We all need to be able to chuckle at ourselves and our lives on occasion.  Take care.

Sew Happy, thanks for the post.. and all others too, of course!

Cnut,  I agree, I am determined to make the day a wonderful day!

It is hard when I'm seen as happy and get the pick, pick, pick from

himself..

Still.. if around others, he can't be too obnoxious..

He has decided to make it 2 nights up in Cherokee, and the two or more

in Boone, maybe another stop on the way home.    He can be so good,

nice when he wants!

I like to do things, like go down a giant slide at a water park.  He won't,

I think he is self conscious and his dad never did anything silly or fun with him

and to heck with others.

Would so love to hit that water slide
Cheri.

Was so counting on a trip to Indiana instead of Cherokee and hoping we could meet up.

This cherokee trip is a blessing in itself, so I can't grovel.

Lets Go get on that water slide.   (so wish I could)

ROFL, squeeling..  you squeel,  as hard as I try, all I can do is bellow!!

LOL,

  • 2 weeks later...

Oh, sorry folks,  guess I did forget to tell it all.

Went up to Boone on Sat. just tucked in looked around a bit and into bed early.

Sun. morning we were up and out to the kids place before noon.  They had prepared a chicken bbq,

maccaroni salad, corn on the cob, brownies, home made ice cream, watermelon.  SOOOO  good.

Just loafed around visiting with our 2 girls, the 3 grandkids, son-in-law,  gd's guy, his Mom, a buddy and

a cousin.  Had a great time visiting.  We were told to be back there at 9:30 a.m.  A Surprise to me. I thought

we'd be leaving in the a.m.

Mon. we all met up and were taken out to Travis' family ranch, they farm, and have horses and trail rides, plus

I don't know what all else.

I hadn't been on a horse for over 40 years.  I could already hear certain places on my body yelling for help!

We got to ride a flat bed trailer up to the stables where the horses are saddled, etc.  I was put up on Flash,

they already had a Blaze with the white on the hooves, so shehad the name of Flash.

Nice animal, easy to rein and easy to ride.  Of course with the stirrup nearly shoulder height, I had to have

help, Getting on,

I was still laughing, as when Roland went to get on, he nearly went right on over the top of Dakota.. they

grabbed his foot or he would have.

He got settled, and everyone else was mounted, and ready to go.  They had another private ride with a little

girl that wanted to cry, but wanted to ride bad enough she wouldn't get off, so our group let theirs go on ahead.

Going through the countryside, there were so many plants and scents, trees, flowers, even the Tiger Lily,

just like there are in Western Wash.   I got all the more homesick.

After the non-eventful ride, we got back and I was able to dismount.. wanted to walk barrell legged, lol,, and

something was hurting more than just a little by then, after 2 hours or so in the saddle.  They had me dismount,

first and they have a repurposed picnic table to make it easy.

Roland, I felt so bad for him.. was comical yet not.. he couldn't lift his legs to dismount.  Neither of them. So 3

of the guys got on that side of the horse and they told him to just fall off.  LOL, poor skinny (but strong)  Ryan

caught the most of him, and almost fell over the picnic table himself.  We got a chuckle out of all of that.

Back to the ranch to grab a bite to eat of whatever was left, which wasn't much, then we went on up to

Cherokee and the Harrah's Casino, loafed a bit, went over had some fun, then out for supper and back to go to

bed.. next a.m., we decided to go gem panning, and see what we could find..  Had a blast with that, got my

longsleeved white blouse a pretty earth orange color, so back to the motel to change.

Went back to the casino for a bit that night, too, and still have a nice part of what I took to spend on the trip.

Enjoyed it all to heck.

Stopped at Jennifer and Dave's, the makers of the Homesteader la quilting machine, also the SideSaddle

quilting computer.  Got the updates for my computer, and it really makes it easier for me..

Had a good visit and ended up being later heading home than we thought, yet got here earlier than we thought

we  would.  Got the car unloaded, and almost everything put away, got a nice warm shower, and jammers then

bed followed quite early.  Couldn't sleep in due to an early a.m. Dr. appt. to get the sutures removed and make

sure the incissions were healing.  I really enjoyed that, as there were no sutures to remove.. they had dissolved

and there wasn't any sign of infection.

By yesterday I was lined up for 3 new Dr. appts., one being having an MRI taken of the whole body trunk, then an

appt with the Pain Clinic Dr. again, and another with a dr that will probably only see me the one time.  Can't

remember what they called the type of appt. it was.  some kind of evaluation I think.

So, this coming week, I have 3 appts. and the following week, 3 more.  I'm not so use to more than 1 per week,

sometimes 2..  only have 3 now when himself has a appt., too.

All in all, I came home energized, ready to get back into the easy chair (not the saddle LOL ) and get some quilting

and piecing done.

Now that I know how much it can help the dolldrums, I will be saving for a night or two away, more frequently.

My bed is early, finished sewing Michaels NCState quilt top back together, just the two borders to put on, and

they are  both cut and joined.  Can hardly wait to see it.

Thanks again for all the well wishes, the nibblets of advice, and prayers..  we did have fun..

It was all it could be, more than either of us anticipated.

Thank you..   it was fun.

I think what made it so nice, was no constraints in the group.. didn't feel  like I had to watch what I said, and remember not to joke around with our 5, the others caught on right away.

It was just soo relaxing.
