Saundra
I need to know what you all think are some of the best books or DVD's on Trapunto. I need to start practicing on this and do not have access to hands-on lessons right now. All imput would be appreciated.
BethDurand
I\'d go with Karen McTavish. I don\'t have her book/DVD, but I\'ve got her one on Mctavishin. She\'s also quite impressive in person. Beth
Quilting Heidi
I would agree with Beth. I have several books on trapunto and I think Karen\'s are the most detailed and she gives some very good advise. Her video\'s are very informative too. I think I have all but her latest book on quilting for show. It is on my Christmas wish list! Heidi
dtreusch
Ditto from me. Karen\'s books are great. Heidi - You can\'t go wrong with the quilting for show book. I bought it last year and refer to it quite often. It is a fabulous book loaded with techniques, tips and lots of pictures for inspiration. RitaR
I don\'t have Karens books but I do have Marti Walners first one on Machine Trapunto and it is excellent, also. RitaRose
Saundra
Thank you all for the imput. Karen\'s book is one that was on my list, but not having seen it in person, I was not sure about it.
catsigler
Karen\'s book and video are excellent. She\'s a wonderful teacher. I just ordered Sharon Schamber\'s trapunto video, so haven\'t seen it yet, but everything else she\'s done is excellent and can\'t imagine this won\'t be as well. Aren\'t we lucky to have all this technology. I LOVE DVDs!
doodlebug
i have all three, karen mctavish\'s book and both of sharon schambers dvds. i prefered karens book and dvd to sharon schambers. i found sharon schambers a little on the "difficult side" JMHO karen is more on the straight forward side... DawnCavanaugh
Another resource is "Exploring Machine Trapunto" by Hari Walner. Hari was a pioneer with this technique, and explains it well.
