BethDurand
Way back in 2003 I decided to make a quilt for our guest room bed. A Double Irish Chain, pattern by Eleanor Burns. I quilted it on my DSM, used Golden Threads paper for the quilting design in the background blocks, and everything else was SID. In about September of 2014 a relative came to stay on her way home to Hawaii. After she got home she asked me to make a quilt for their guest room "just like" ours. She sent me paint chips and one fabric swatch, and I went shopping. I think that my piecing has improved since 2003, but I KNOW that my quilting has improved. Of course, the addition of my Millie as opposed to quilting on my DSM can't have hurt. I used Glide thread and wool batting. Yes, it's going to Hawaii, but they won't be sleeping under it, and I wanted the loft of the wool. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. Additional pictures on my blog http://eocq-gallery.blogspot.com/ Thanks for looking.

Pat C
Oh, both are very pretty Beth! I love the design in the "chain" portion of the new quilt. And, of course, your feathers are beautiful. Your relative will be pleased!

ffq-lar
It's lovely, Beth! Both are treasures. One shows where you began and the other where you are today. The wool batting makes a huge difference and your feathers are wonderful.
BethDurand
Linda that's a lovely way to put it. "Where you began" Much better than my interpretation of "Man, I was a lousy quilter!"
