mcarmickle
Does anyone have a favorite ruler that they use for SID and then for doing 1/4 inch from the line? Thanks for your suggestions! Marion in TX

Quilting Heidi
The dainty ditcher is my fav
quiltmonkey
Janet Lee's Favorite is my favorite for SID around the outer edges of blocks. It's not too long and not too short and it has the 1/4" lines marked on the ruler for positioning exact spacing. I like to use my Dainty Ditcher for SID on small piecing inside the block. DebFigved
All the suggestions are great. I seem to have collected several rulers for stitch-in-the ditch. Also look at www.deloasquiltshop.com --"DeLoa's Little One" can fit in your hand as you move along the quilt. --DeLoa's Castle" is larger. Both have 1/4 markings that make it nice to follow the line of the quilt. They both have hopping foot holes that can be used with applique. sspingler
Megan's Best. Also I had one cut that is 2 1/2" x 12" that I marked with an exacto knife every 1/4" up to 1" that I use almost all the time.

I really like the look of it! I may just have to have one of those!
DebFigved
Bonnie, Well said. That's why I also have several. I think I've found the perfect drawer to keep my rulers accessible. Organization has not been my best skill. I keep trying!!
IBQLTN2
while we are talking about rulers, Does anyone have the swirls and waves rulers and templates from Longarm University? and if so what size and how do they work for the Shishiko designs. I love the designs but wonder how much practice it would take to be able to make these designs look that GOOD?
Quilting Heidi
Deb, I can't find these rulers on Deloa's site. Are you sure she is the one that sells them? Maybe they are new?

Mrs.A
Hey Deb: Pardon me if this is a stupid question but I have a George and don't use rulers all the time like you stand-up folks do. You posted photos of rulers with hopping foot holes. How are those used? Thanks, Nancy in Tucson

After MQS I actually went to the store and bought two narrow long dish racks (they are metal) and I stacked all of my rulers in there. They look great, organized and out where I can see them and find them.

DebFigved
Mrs. A., DeLoa has a short video on how her appliguide works with a hopping foot. A picture is worth a thousand words. I purchased the rulers at MQS. DeLoa must not have them on her site yet.
Quilting Heidi
Deb thanks. I've sent DeLoa an email. I like the design and they really look like they would work well.
