lcquilting
Hi all! Once again I need your opinions. I'm doing a quilt for my sister (her mother-in-law pieced it for her) and she doesn't care what color of thread I use. Just doing a simple meander. What do you think?......gold, dark brown or taupe? I'm leaning towards to the taupe....
Matt Sparrow
I'd go with the chocolate brown! I use my browns whenever I get the chance... this looks like the perfect opportunity
matildanme
I'm leaning towards the taupe...but i like the other 2 also lol What colour is the backing? When I'm unsure, I choose the one that looks best on the backing....but only if it looks good on top.

LeeAnn
I like the taupe.
Quilting Heidi
I'd go taupe unless your sister loves brown. The brown would really show on the white but the taupe will blend in better and won't be seen much at all on the colored fabric. I use Signature Mother Goose or SoFine 459 all the time. Omega QW
Both King Tut and Signature have some wonderful variegated threads that would complement all these colors; however, if your option is only these three threads, I vote for taupe. lcquilting
Thanks all for your opinions. In the end I choose to use the taupe and am very pleased. It really blends very well, which is what my sister was leaning towards. Thanks again!
loramcc
I'm weighing in for the gold. It will liven up the quilt. Lora
Hawaii
Glad you are happy with the thread choice. How about a picture!!!
lcquilting
I'll post a picture in a few days. If it was my quilt, I would've used gold for a contrast but my sister wanted something more mellow.
JoAnnHoffman
I would use that sage green color of the fabric.

Quilting Heidi
Meg, I used to be with you. Taupe was not a normal color for me to choose but now I find it is one of the most common colors I use! It blends very nicely when you have lots of colors. It always looks great on greens, plums and red/browns.
LibbyG
Wow, I can't believe how pretty the quilt is with the taupe. There's such a wealth of information on this site.
