seakitten
I have just received a beautiful gift of thread, which includes some Bottom Line. The one time I used it I did not care for it much, but now I have lots of it & it is beautiful, so I need to know what the trick is. How should I handle it, as compared to So Fine? LadyLake
I like to use it for stitch-in-the-ditch because it blends in well. It is great for micro-stippling or any small texture work. I use it all the time in the bobbin with almost any top thread. Since it is thin, you can load a lot of it in one bobbin and it tends to have fewer tension problems. quiltmonkey
I love bottom line and use it a lot in the bobbin. And like Joan said, using it in the top for finer detailed lines (not thready) looks great too. I've looked closely at Marilyn Badger's quilts and Iam pretty sure she uses Bottom Line on the top for her beautifully detailed lines and designs. That woman amazes me with what she does with thread. roberta
I too use it in my bobbin all the time. I have not had any trouble with it. Have you tried sewers aide? I use sewers aide quite a bit because I live in a dry climate. I see you live in a tropical paradise so I am not sure how well it would work for you.. jmcclannan
I love my Bottom Line. My bobbin loves it too.
Quilting Heidi
I use bottom line a lot in the bobbin. I did have a problem with it laying flat on the bottom but I found that loosening my bobbin tension a lot stopped that. You just have to find its sweet spot. sewlinzi
I use it in a bobbin case with a pigtail - good with Aurifil 50 on top or any poly.
nora123
So Linzi, I bought a bobbin case with pigtail and have never used it. I could not figure out how to thread it in the pigtail. Can you show a pic of how it looks threaded or maybe someone else can. Thanks. Nora Millennium Washougal WA
sewlinzi
close-up my thread looks like rope and everything is covered in fluff!...
seakitten
I've never seen a bobbin case with a pigtail before -- where do you get them? Not that I'm sure I need it; I just need to have every gadget, I guess.
sewlinzi
I got it from an industrial machine supplier - they are fairly generic... I showed them pics of the bobbins and sizes and they matched them for me. (Don't make me go back out to my cold workshop on this dark, wet night...!)
