quiltmonkey
OK Doodlegirly, I did some "googling" and discovered that Ellen Heck is from Somis, CA (near Camarillo) one of the links shows she is 78, so elderly. Not sure if she is still alive or not. But... Here's my google search: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22ellen+heck%22+Somis+CA&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai= I also noticed in one of the links about her belonging to the Camarillo Quilter's Association. Perhaps someone there (send email) can get in touch with her for you -- or they know how to obtain her patterns. www.camarilloquilters.org
witha'K'quilting
What I could find showed all works were inspired by her designs. Still not sure if patterns are out there with her designs. I found this link...that in 1996 her works were published and for sale at fabric depot. http://articles.latimes.com/1996-02-06/local/me-32786_1_small-quilt
seakitten
Check out these similar patterns by my friend, Cathy VanBruggen <http://www.cathyvb.com/>; you might find something you like there. I have asked her how to get in touch with Ellen, I am pretty sure they know each other, so if/when I hear back from her I will post her reply. I'll keep looking!
srichardson
Ellen Heck is still alive and does publish patterns. I have two of her block patterns including the one for the centre block in this quilt. The only contact information on the pattern is her address. If you would like the address I can send you an e-mail as I don't feel comfortable putting her address out on the web without her permission. kennan100
I just emailed the snail mail address I found for her. Check it against what Sue has, you might have 2 addresses and may need to try both. Phones are unlisted so I couldn't get that for you! ( But her husband's name is Kurt, and she's from Germany and over 65)
