Kristiequilts
Carol, you did a fantastic job. I'm glad you didn't' have to take it apart. Wow. Makes me want to finish the top that I bought already done! Your feathers are beautiful. Now where do I get the horseback riding lesson again?;)
Rhondalea
Carol, I love those feathers! Are they freehand or did you have to trace them on or make some type of marking? You did an awesome job and we are all in awe of the ugly you turned pretty!!! Thanks for sharing!
CrazyAboutQuilting
Karol, it's beautiful!! And I love your feathers! There is a perfect example of the quilting "making" the quilt. You did an amazing job on that challenge and turned it into a thing of beauty. Way to go!
dancingstitcher
You're amazing Karol. The advice was so good on this quilt. I'm glad that I checked in to read about it and get an education. It's wonderful that you didn't undo any of the piecing and just added your own wonderful decoration. Yes, I agree that those feathers are fabulous and really make the outside border something special. Grandmother angel is smiling on you. kusmaulk
Thank you all for the lovely words. The feathers are freehand, but based on instruction from Jamie Wallen's CD. I had the riding lesson this morning, and nearly fell off, but was rescued, and had a wonderful time!

Dar
Karol, You are the miracle worker for sure. I want to know how do you Starch and Steam something that big, and I assume you do it before you put it on the frame?

kusmaulk
I think the quilting angels were with me on this one. I starched and steamed the top before quilting, and then sections again while it was on the frame.
