Crazy4Quilting
I marked a quilt with the blue pounce chalk for the first time. I washed it and the blue didn't come out. I sprayed with spray and wash, washed again and it was still there. I got some "Grandma's Secret Spot Remover" used it and it was still there. Now I have sprayed it with Shout, scrubbed the heck out of it and put it back into the washer. It did look like it was going to come out this time, but it is still in the washing machine so only time will tell. Any suggestions if it doesn't come out this time?? This quilt is a gift. Thank goodness I mostly used the white chalk, which came out the first washing.
JustSewSimple
I wonder if a de-greaser would work. That blue powder might have an oil base. Just thinking here. Be sure not to heat it.

Crazy4Quilting
Thanks Silvia, I'll try the degreaser next if it doesn't come out this round. Gosh, I always learn something with each quilt I make, but this is awful. I didn't mix the white and blue chalk. Used them separately on the quilt. I forgot about the black light and needed to mark a few light pink squares. Maybe I can convince my sister in law it is part of the quilt. haha. The blue chalk is going in the garbage. Crazy4Quilting
It's finally out. It did leave a blue stain on some of the white thread but I can live with that. The shout worked.
meg_marsh
Someone (sorry, can't remember who) once told me to add cinnamon to the white & it will come out - NO BLUE!!
Kay Anderson
If you use the blue chalk, do not wet it before useing a vacume to suck up all the powder. It isn't fool proof, but belive me, get the dusty chalk off the quilt before you wash it.
Calicoquilter
Rita, When we were at the Milwaukee Machine Quilting Show, I took a class from Karen McTavish and she said that she mixes the blue and the white all of the time.
sspingler
I've used the white chalk with cinnamon for years with no problems. The first time I used the blue chalk, I ended up throwing it away.
LinneaMarie
I've used the blue; and did what Kay said: vacuumed it up. I also won a blue ribbon with that quilt. Do not wet it!!

KDquilter
I used the blue chalk - once - had to wash the customer quilt to give it back to her. It did not vaccum out, but did come out in the washing machine. Will NEVER use blue again!!! I hadn't heard about the cinnemon trick, might be worth a try.
