Beachside Quilter
Here is the Trail Mix quilt finally finished. I asked for ideas and it was suggested to add diagonal lines following some of the trails and then feather the paths. The diagonal lines were a real challenge; so happy to have this one done! Thank you Heidi, and Victoria for your design ideas. Edited - I used Dell's suggestion to take the quilt outside and try to get pictures in the sun. It worked; created enough shadow so the quilting shows up better. Thanks for looking!
Beachside Quilter
The large triangle. I did an upside down heart and feathered it. She wanted a matching taupe thread so you can't see much. In person it is lovely!

Beachside Quilter
Thanks, Linda, and everyone. Sorry the quilting doesn't show; she wanted a very neutral taupe thread. I warned her it wouldn't show but she wanted the texture. The feathers are really swoopy and fill up the paths. Thanks for looking!

Sandra Darlington
It really turned out to be fabulous. I really like this quilt. I have been looking at one very similar to piece after I get some of my other projects done. I have a ton of Thimbleberries fabrics and I think they would look pretty good with this pattern. Beachside Quilter
Thanks, Shana, Heidi, Ardelle, Sandra, Irene & Kay! Dell suggested that I take the quilt outside and try to get better pictures. The wind was blowing this morning; (see the rocks holding the edges down!) but I got some better pictures. Beachside Quilter
Thanks, Judy! She said these are just scraps from other quilting projects, but her mix of fabrics is lovely. She has Thimbleberries, batiks, novelty prints, florals. It was a joy to quilt! I also loved that the color she used in the 4-patch for the trail matched the colors in the path it was traveling through. A lot of thought went into this quilt. Beachside Quilter
Thanks, Linda. She wanted feathers all over but didn't want them on the white trails. Heidi and Victoria came up with the design ideas. The paths are so large and they both suggested diagonal lines to follow the trail and break up the area. It worked! Made me stretch way out of my comfort zone; Dell held my hand, and I finally got it done! Doing the Happy Dance!
Beachside Quilter
Dell, I was posting to Linda while you were posting! Yes, your idea to take it outside worked. At least you can see some of the quilting; still doesn't show it up as well as in person but at least you get the idea (I hope!).
