mscott2611
How would you quilt this? Since there is no plain center piece to quilt a pattern in would you quilt just TT and SID or does anyone have other ideas? I am trying to attach my first photo
mscott2611
One more photo that is a close up. Any help will be great, I am new at this and not sure what to do. I have only done panto so far. Might do a swirl board.
Quilting Heidi
I would do cc's and circles around those daisies. Do something really pretty in the red border.
Guest Linda S
I think I might even go for a panto on this. It's so bright, you're not really going to notice the quilting.
lindasewsit
I was thinking the same thing Linda said...That is one busy quilt! Your quilting is not really going to show up. I would do a panto or E2E on it!! What ever you decide to do , I am sure will be great! linda
njquiltergirl
I vote for a panto or a Circle Lord Swirlz on this one.
Bonnie
My suggestion would be for the body Swirls or just old fashion meander.....to busy for anything special, and piano keys or cross hatching across both borders.
mscott2611
Okay, I was thinking the Circle Lord Swirlz but what color thread? And in the border I like the idea of piano keys but again what color thread?
victoriasews
I'd put some leaves in those borders. The quilting will really show there and the leaves would compliment the flowers.
victoriasews
I think I'd go with leaves to compliment the flowers in the border area. What you quilt in the borders will really show because of the plain colors and the quilt has so a lot of straight lines going on in the rest of the quilt. Maybe a simple design like this. RitaR
I think for thread I'd either use yellow or black. I just finished a quilt using invisible, and doubt I use that again very soon. Too hard for me to see. I'd love to see leaves or feathers on the inner border, and piano keys or peg board on the darkest.. even cross hatching would be pretty on the inner border with the piano keys. Welcome and please keep showing picts.. Thanks
mscott2611
Victoria I like the idea of leaves in the red/orange border that is a great idea. Could I do those with a black on that red/orange or what color should I use because I don't think I could use a green but then again maybe I could what is everyone opinion remember I am new to this. Rita then I could do cross hatching or piano keys on the dark blue with a dark blue thread don't you think. As far as the body of the quilt do you both think that a swirl pattern would be okay with these borders. I really appreciate the help. This is for my 17 year old daughter. She picked the material and the pattern and I am trying not to mess up the quilting. She is very smart when it comes to what looks right and she will see if it looks wrong and then I will be "frogging" and I don't want to "frog" a king size quilt. Judi
I think yellow in the body of the quilt - which would lighten up those dark squares a bit. Would love to see green leaves in that border - if you really want to bring a new color into the quilt - or match the fabric. then yes - do with the dark blue in the out border - crosshatching would be great! I personally would not want to quilt piano keys in a broader right next one with crosshatching in. To similar, all straight lines. Need to mix it up a bit and add some curves or loops now and then. Good luck - have fun! I'm sure she will love it - especially if she picked out the fabrics! Looks very bright and happy! (at first glance I thought they were smiley faces!!!) :)
victoriasews
I'd quilt with yellow in the center and then either yellow or orange in the orange. I really shy away from dark thread unless it is on dark fabric. It just looks stringy to me. Keep in mind, that is only my opinion as others choose dark thread and really like it.
