ninjaquilter
Hi. This is weird. I set my SR to 11 stitches per inch but it keeps dropping down to 7 while I am quilting. What can I do? Agnes
lindasewsit
Can't help you!! Maybe call APQS tomorrow morning! Hope you can figure it out!
CindyT
My response might sound weird, too, but I've found that with any electonics that gets a glitch that sometimes if I turn it off, unplug it for a few minutes and then start over that it will "reset" itself and start working again. If this helps, it's probably a temporary solution though and the best thing is to contact APQS tomorrow. Good luck.
witha'K'quilting
If you set the stitch length from the rear handles...does it do the same thing?
ninjaquilter
It is a weird problem and yup , it is the same from the rear handles too. I guess I'll have to give them a call. I was reluctant to do that because I'm slightly deaf so I was hoping to get some info in print. Thanks for trying though. Agnes
srichardson
Agnes, I just posted this on another thread about SR problems. The APQS e-mail newsletter had instructions today about dealing with SR issues. If you haven't already called and got some help send me your e-mail address and I will forward the newsletter to you. If you don't already receive it and would like to sign up for it go to the APQS home page and over on the right hand side is the sign up button. ninjaquilter
Thanks Sue, I just read the newsletter. Now I'm wondering how does one adjust the encoder wheel? I've had my Millie for 4 years and should know these things but I tend to wait until I'm desparate to learn what I need to know. Agnes:o
ninjaquilter
duh! I should have read the rest of the article. It tells me how to adjust it!..hahah I guess I'm blind as well as deaf! I can be a dunce sometimes. I'll try it now. hopefully it will work Agnes

ninjaquilter
thanks for all the responses to my dilema, I can now report back to that my regulator problem is solved . I'm so relieved. ...but now I have to figure out the next problem. I will search the forum for the answer. My problem now is: the machine seems to stall. ...when I put the needle down...it very sluggishly moans and I have to manually turn the wheel...same thing for put it back up again. I'm going to post this question in a new thread after I do some research. The answer may already be out there. Thanks, Agnes:o:)
srichardson
Agnes, Perhaps you need to adjust the number 8 screw that controls the speed of the needle up/down function. Check it out in your manual or do a search of the forum! Sue

Lynn K
Thanks anyway Sue but I never received it. Will call the service tech in the morning. My DH looked and we can't find anything. I was showing him how it didn't hold and it just shut off again.

Lynn K
Thanks everyone. We just determined the encoder wheel is worn. Remembered I had an old brown wheel that we put on and it seems to be working better. It's still loose but better. We couldn't get it tight with the other wheel. It was at the end of the slot. Explains all the black specks I always had. Lynn
