sewingupastorm
Every year my guild has a challenge and in the 5 years I have been a member I have always entered. Each year I get a ribbon but have never gotten a blue. This year I was in disbelief that I got a first place! My entry was pieced with all non cotton background in a diamond pattern (think Jan Krenz). The background was quilted on the longarm and then fish were done on my domestic machine. I also did trapunto on the fish to make them puff out. http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2330412960053837050Yuwowh

GERRY
WoW !!!!, no wonder you won first prize S.U.A.S. You did a great job. Your fish are awsome & the fabric choices must have taken days to get right. Thanks for sharing, I know more than one guy who would like that quilt to hang in his space. Awesome! p.s. I am curious as to which of the fabrics was your challenge fabric? Was it the rainbow colored piece? Or the green? or the grey? I wonder....... sewingupastorm
Thank you all for the great remarks on my fish quilt. The challenge fabric was the strip on the quilt that had the geometric shapes that were pink, purple, and green against the white background. I set it on the bias to make it read as fish scales.
