Marsha Nichols
I want to duplicate a quilt made by my grandmother in the 1940-1950. I has nine 24" texas star blocks surrounded by white squares and triangles. I am looking for a pattern. I will try to post a pic of the quilt. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Stagecl
Do you have EQ7? You can draw up the pattern in that or any pattern you see and get all the directions etc. It is a great tool if you love creating or recreating patterns.

Marsha Nichols
Cheryl,I have EQ7on another computer that has crashed. Hopefully< I will get it going again. Thanks for the input. Ladylake: Thank you for the homespun link. That is just about the block I am looking for. The star I need has the red center star then 9 different fabrics and finishing with the red. I may have to modify the block and use the link you sent.

Marsha Nichols
thank you for the direction. The pattern has the right amount of diamonds for each point but the total star needs to be 24".

The white open blocks don't have to be solid.

BlueSkies
I think that it is a Mountain Mist pattern called Star of Alabama - Pattern #72, © 1939. I found a picture (not the best) of it here http://www.quilt.com/collector/feature.html I have the pattern (somewhere), I bought it eons ago. I'm not sure, but it could be in this book at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Mountain-Mist-Quilt-Favorites-Quilting/dp/0848716698 Even if it isn't in there, the book is worth it. I also have the book, but it is at my Mom's house so I can't look. HTH,Sara
