qwltnldy
So, how does one go about simplifying custom? There is a gal in our area who seems to have this figured out. Or maybe I just dont understand the difference between "custom" and "heirloom". I think it would be great to get a thread going on what people view as the differences between the two besides super tight, McTavishing, and all that. For example: SID - Custom or Heirloom? Close outline of applique - Custom or heirloom? stitching inside appliques to highlight stuff - Custom or heirloom? I no longer charge by the square inch for custom. I do like Heidi did her Baltimore. Sometimes I get it wrong and end up charging less than the time I spent but mostly I'm pretty well on target. Recently I have been trying to get an idea of what is in THEIR mind that they want to spend first, then I can base my price range on what I know I can accomplish within that price. This way there are no surprises.
