connieb
This is a customer's quilt. It is for her son. She said make it special. He likes stars if that helps but not required. I need help. I have a couple of ideas but well they just aren't saying "ya that's the one".

connieb
Here are two ideas I am toying with, which one do you like better? Or do you have a better suggestion. TIA

LauraJ
The one on the right looks cool. Swirls countering all the straight seaming. The other ones seem a bit too busy for the quilt. Just my opinion though.
Enchanted Quilting
I agree with Laura, but the one on the left looks more masculine to me for some reason. All designs do great justice to the quilt.
WestieMom
I'm partial to the spikey fern on the left although all of your design ideas look nice. I was thinking that simple radiating circles would also look nice then maybe something more complex stitched in the border.
lnieland
I like the swirls on the right. As Laura said, the others seem a bit too busy - there's a lot going on with all the fabrics in each square. My first thought was some type of circle design, perhaps using the cross-section of the black sashing as the center point of the circle. I couldn't figure out what to do after that, though! Della
I, too, prefer the one on the right...jsut not quite as busy with all the bright colors and straight lines. Sometimes just deciding on what to do is the hardest part!!!
Quilting Heidi
I'd go with the swirls too. I'd do stars in the back inner border.
Sandra Darlington
My first thought was the one on the left - spikey with the swirls.
cmkeindl1
I am no expert by any means - but those designs seem rather difficult for those bright, pieced areas that the quilting may not even be seen in? What about simple swirls in the middle and some incredible border in the black to showcase concentric stars or something? Can't wait to see what you do! Dustee
I like the one on the left. But I too think concentric circles would look nice with the busy quilt colors. Masybe some stars in the border.
