lisae
Yesterday morning I was stitching along and for no apparent reason, the bobbin seized up. Hmmm....no stray thread in the bobbin hook, everything clean and oiled. Started stitching and it happened again. Changed to a new bobbin. It happened again. Changed the bobbin case. It happened again! It was like the bobbin would over-spin and it would literally stop the machine from stitching. Then I remembered something I had read on the forum about an air conditioning vent blowing the thread and causing issues. Guess what? I had the ceiling fan on! Turned it off and not one more bobbin thread break. I love this forum!

Bonnie H
Lisa, I'm glad my experience with the fan/air vent helped you! I love this list as we all have such different experiences to share and you never know when a little tip will pop into your memory and be helpful. I just wish my memory was better! lisae
I quilted an entire baby quilt today with the fan off and no issues. Thank goodness Bonnie and Ardelle posted about it AND I remembered reading about it. Otherwise I am sure I would still be trying to figure it out.
