cstucke80
I am at a loss as to how to quilt a string pieced Kaleidoscope quilt. Can someone please shoot me some ideas!
Oma
All over appeals to me because the quilt is so busy, but If you decide to go more custom I would isolate those orange and green triangles and maybe do concentric circles in the other part that looks sort of like a web. I think I'm tired...lol.
JenniferBernard
Usually simple is best with sooooo much color! The quilting is not going to show on all that color. I advise my customers not to spend their money on quilting that will not show. A nice edge to edge that will give it texture would be nice. Sheagatzi
An edge to edge - the fabrics and pattern are so busy you won't notice specific quilting as much. How about spirals?
Quilting Heidi
I'd guess e2e but what does your customer want? I always base my quilting on what the customer wants. There are ways to give that definition and make each kaleidoscope show but it would take effort. Be honest with your customer about what the quilting will or won't do. If they told you to quilt what you think is best I'd go with e2e.
Sandra Darlington
I've made quite a few "string quilts" that would have a similar look. I always do an overall design, preferably one that is not too dense.
Merryjo2003
E2E! I would discourage a customer from custom as it won't show and the cost would be higher. I tell them to spend it when it will count! Pretty quilt. Everyone thinks that all my personal quilts are high end custom because that's what I like to do. If it were mine, I would do e2e. I don't think custom would really do much more for the quilt. I would like it just as well with a pretty panto!
SandraC
There is a panto I have recently called Entangled....it's a spiderweb design. Might be a bit too dense maybe, but one day when I make this quilt, that is what I will quilt it with!
sammi357
Three arcs, from point to point inside each triangle. Very simple all over and can be done free hand. figure your starting point to leave you an 'exit' strategy to the next block.
Corey
I made this quilt, pattern by Sarah Filke, used spiderweb block pattern, I freehand the alternate block
