chrisquilter
Oh Debbie, I am looking for a Davis! I live in Dayton Ohio and they were manufactured here in my old neighborhood in 1889 to 1924. I would love to own one of these machines. Some day I will find one closer to home. micajah
Chris, even if you only find a Davis machine without the treadle base, you can generally find the missing parts and base on ebay. Mine is such a one and it looks its age, but sews so smoothly you would think it just came from the factory. Good Luck in your quest for one. micajah
The seattle craigslist Davis machine is gone...wondering if someone on our list is the lucky buyer? Do tell... so we can do the happy dance with you too. Debbie
Quilting Grammy
I would love to have a Treadle machine. Every one I find needs a belt which I'm sure is an easy fix (sigh) maybe one day.
Marti10245
Rosie is beautiful. I love old machines also. I have a Singer 1939 featherweight and a old singer treadle sewing machine. I love to buy old machines and tear them apart and get them working lol. Have fun with Rosie I love her name
LindaSteller
Gorgeous! I really love that cabinet, too. I hope the re-wiring goes well. I'm a bit of a collector of old machines. I have a great featherweight, a Willcox and Gibbs chain stitch machine, a Singer 99k that is in perfect condition that I got on Craigslist for $35 (crazy, I know!), and a gorgeous Singer treadle also from Craigslist for $200. I love them all!
