Brenni
I have my backing fabric ready. I need to get these in the mail so I will stop second guessing my choices. I will be sending a DC square for everyone. Mary
PatSchafer
I love your backing, Mary. I'm wondering if there is any fabric out there that is essentially a map showing the interstates, etc. Remember those old folding maps we used before the gps. JeannieB
Fabric Traditions has a US Map panel that you can find at several places ... might be fun to put on the back ...
aktbone
Jeannie, That is the panel I am using for my backs. I love that Alaska and Hawaii are in their respective spots, but Alaska is huge. Just a tad bit of information: You can fit Texas into Alaska 2 times. It is 1/5 the size of the lower 48. Alaska is larger then Texas, California and Montana combined. Impressive!
The Quilted Petal
I apologize if this has already been addressed but I just wanted to be sure! Are we to prewash fabrics before cutting into squares and mailing or not? Thanks so much! This is my first online fabric swap and my first I Spy quilt and I'm super excited! The Quilted Petal
Thanks, Tonilyn. I will pick up my last fabric today (driving to FL to get it, but I thought it was a really fun fact and that was the closest I could find!) My four states will be in the mail tomorrow!!! chickenscratch
Just to clarify, are we including 50 little strips for each state, with a fun fact? My fabrics are all cut and ready to go. Unfortunately I am out of printer ink
QuiltGuy
I thought we were attaching a one line explanation of how our fabric represents our state to Tonilyn and she was collating into a sheet she would e-mail to us. At least that's what it says in the first post...
chickenscratch
Thanks Dave. I guess I didn't read carefully enough. It's been a long week- state testing at school and I have the read aloud group.
aktbone
Yes, Dave is correct. Send me, via email, the explanation of why the print(s) represents your state(s). I will collect all of them and mail out when the squares go out.
The Quilted Petal
Tonilyn, You should receive fabrics for DE, NJ, CT & MA by Tuesday. Thanks!
aktbone
They are arriving daily! As I receive squares, I will line out the list on the first page of postings. Please check it out so you will know when I receive your squares. Thanks for getting them out!
QuiltGuy
Sent you an e-mail just before checking on this!
aktbone
We are waiting on 9 states. If you have not already emailed me with your explanation of your choice of fabric for your state, please do so. Several have sent them with your squares. I don't have time to type all of them out. Cut and paste is my wonderful friend! Amazing - so far we have only 2 matching squares choices. I will let you try to figure out the states before I mail them out. QuiltyMama
Wow, that is great...where did you find it? I found it on Etsy. The designer is Krista Hamrick, and I love her art. Might keep an eye on ebay too. This was the only place I found it, and the seller had about 2 yards left. It really is a beautiful piece.

aktbone
I have all the squares in my hands! I will be sorting and getting them all together to mail out this week. What a bunch of fun fabric!
aktbone
Most everyone's envelope is in the mail. If you were short on postage I sent you a separate email. I am not being cheap but extra postage adds up when mailing 22 envelopes. I would love to see what is created with the squares. Please post pics here. Thanks for participating.
