busybee
Sooo pretty. How long did it take you. Customer is going to be thrilled. Is it freehand of templates. Nita
Teri
Beautiful quilt and quilting, Pam! I love the "heart feather" in the setting triangles. Is that freehand? Did you do a faux trapunto? It is just wonderful. Teri

ammueller7
Does anyone have a hint for getting stitching marks out of batik fabric. Quilted a row with bad tension and had to rip out but the old standard dampen the hole and mke it go away - didn't make it go away - help - anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Ang
maudie
Ang, I have dampened them and scratched at them and they don't come out. It's my understanding that it is the nature of the fabric - tight weave. Puts a bit of nervousness in me whenever I get a batik quilt!
JudyL
I just posted a few pictures on my webshots page: http://community.webshots.com/album/251017383EJftEp Don't want to hog all the room here so you can see them there if you'd like. There's one that's a stack & whack with meandering stars and the Terry Twist in the blocks; one that has the Divine Vine panto and one that has some fun custom quilting. JudyL
Someone had asked about the Terry Twist and the pictures of the quilt don't show it very good. I drew it on my dry erase board, along side the star I did on the Big Star quilt.
quiltjunkie
I have used my steam iron and hold just above the fabric, steam and then scratch, this helps greatly reduce the holes for me. Hester
Teri
Judy, You are such a sweetie! The pictures of your drawings are such a good idea! What will you think of next!!! Teri
JudyL
I'm sure none of my ideas are original but I'm glad to share anything I know. I have that big dry erase board on the wall that I'm facing while doing custom work. I forget what I'm doing so I always draw it out and can glance up at it. The star with the feathered wreath -- there were stars on each corner and one in the middle of the quilt so that when I had the quilt rolled, I couldn't see what the previouis stars looked like . . if I didn't have it drawn up there, I'd probably have half my feathers going left and half going right . . not good! So, I just needed to glance up and see what I needed to do to keep everything the same.

Phyllis
Debbie, The pictures are great......and you did that on a short-arm? I'm impressed....you need to get a long-arm! Keep up the good work...Phyllis
debb1
Thank you all for the kind words. Phyllis - that was done on a conventional sewing machine. I'm still hoping to get a long arm, but in the meantime I just make do. By the way - before Disney decides to come down on me, that quilt was made for a girl at my office. She paid only for the materials, so it wasn't a commercial sale. As a sad note, the day after I delivered it to her she received a call that her brother had been shot and killed. A reminder that we all need to hold close those who are dear to us. Debbie
zarz
Do any of you know this pattern? My grandmother pieced this quilt a couple of years before she past away and I just had it quilted. I would love to know the name of the pattern. It's a wedding gift for my daughter.

ramona-quilter
Judy, I just checked your web-site. I love Betty's applique quilt. The background really makes the applique pop. The leaf pattern quilting in the sashing is just perfect to highlight the leaf applique. Looks fabulous.
