Sandra Darlington
Layla's quilt. It is made out of a twin sheet on top and a fleece blanket on the back (Walmart sales); Quilter's Dream Puff batting; Sew Fine thread. She is 3 1/2, so it will be washed a million times. The center of the lazy daisy is trapunto'd Minkee.

Sandra Darlington
Fleece backing. I also made my daughter a small Valentine's Day wall hanging. I layed it over the quilt so you could see it before I give it to her tomorrow. I told her I would make her a wall hanging for every holiday or season in 2010. I gave her one at Christmas time 2009, so I guess St. Patrick's Day will be next. They are by Patch-Abilities. They have lots of them to choose from and they are so quick and easy and usually everything can be found in your stash. They make great little gifts. quiltmonkey
I'll bet Layla will be always touching that flower center made from soft Minkee. You are a sweet grandma and the little wallhanging is cute too. I plan on making something with my "little" Mary this month. She is 10 and loves crafts. Sandra Darlington
This morning I gave Layla her new quilt and I got a face full of kisses. She is so sweet! And, you are right...she layed on top of the quilt and rubbed her face across the Minkee flower center. Because I added an extra layer of QD Puff under the Minkee for a trapunto'd look, she asked if that was her little pillow. My daughter and I had to laugh at the logic behind a 3 1/2 year old mind. Now I need to buy some more Minkee and make her a real pillow case. The things Grandma's do for their little ones!
