MastiffMomQlt
I just made bee hive quilts--sort of... only 2 layers. Dream puff batting w/4mil black plastic sheeting & wrapped my hives. That will help keep them warm & comfy over the winter months. Here's to hoping they all make it through the winter... ffq-lar
I've heard of quilting bees, but never quilts FOR bees!!:P:P Great use of your machine!
Neher-in-law5
You should have given them needles and the fabric so you could have quilted fabric all completed in the spring--with honeycomb design quilting.
Linda G. Craig
LOL! OMG, Caren, I had to read your message twice to figure out what you were doing! LOL! And I live next door to an Apiary! DUH! What a great idea -- but I'm not telling my neighbour about it! :P:P Take care, my friend. Quilting Heidi
Now that is a first. I've never heard of making a quilt for a bee.
delld
Bees need to be kept warm too. I would have never have thought to do that! Our Florida bees are cold too!
Zora
My husband is a beekeeper. How, exactly, did you do this? Black plastic on the backing roller, and batting on the top??? Then just a meander? I just saw this stuff advertised in one of his beekeeping magazines. Never thought about making it myself. You're so clever! MastiffMomQlt
Well, I kinda used some creative license--a stapler! It worked great & my Hubby gave me the thumbs up on inspection too! I didn't know you lived next to honey bee people, Linda! Cool!
