Jenquilts
Hi, I've been really wanting a bernina that travels. I don't think I can afford new so I was looking for a used bernina activa. Does anyone have multiple machines and want to part with one? I figured i would come to the board where I know people take good care of their things and are incredibly friendly and honest. Thanks, Jen
o2b Quilting
Check with some dealers in your area. Only a certified dealer can transfer any remaining warrantee. I purchased an older 145 years ago and loved it. Traded it for a new 430. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the older Activa again but the newer 230/240 would be my choice. Good luck! Jenquilts
Ann Marie-I didn't get a u2u...could you possibly resend? After receiving advice here, I think I may check with the local dealer and see if they have any used models I did check eBay. What do you think a good price is for a 210 or 220 in good condition? Pam- thx for the heads up. I haven't called yet because I want to get a little more informed about prices and models etc first, but thanks. njquiltergirl
Hi Jen. I have seen them used for between $400 and $500. I tested one that had a near-dead controll board. Almost bought it but learned it was a repair that would be either $125 or $400. I passed. Make sure you can test drive it with fabric! Good luck! luv2kwilt
I bought a Bernina 210 on ebay at christmas for just under $500! Perfect machine that works wonderful!!! I have taken it places and it is so light weight and wonderful! I wouldn't trade it for the world! Good luck! P.S. They had a new one listed at Calico Country in Carbondale, IL at christmas for $699...just so you have some numbers to play with.
