hockeymom444
Hi everyone! I hope I'm not becoming annoying with all my newbie questions, but here is another one! I would like to be able to use regular spools of thread on my Lucey and was wondering what the best spool holder to get would be? Also, please tell me the actual name of it, if you know it please! I seem to be having a hard time finding a picture of these anywhere! OR, are there any "home-made" solutions to this???? Any ideas, comments or suggestions are welcome and very much appreciated!!! Thanks again!
Quilting Heidi
Chris never worry about asking too many questions. You can buy a spool holder from APQS, that is the one I have.

Dustee
Welcome to the forum and the APQS family. Please don't ever be afraid to ask questions. We all are here for newbies and enjoy your postsl. Everyone on here are very helpful. I have the one from APQS and love it. Look on the APQS website. I think it may be called a spool holder. JustSewSimple
I bought a good looking spool holder from someone here on the forum but it came with no instructions. So...it just sits and looks at me as I have no idea where to put it or how. That's what I get for trying to save money!!! Go ahead and get yours where you KNOW there will be instructions!!! meg
i also have the apqs one. but, until you can get an apqs one, a homemade remedy is take any stick or a pencil and attach it to the head, i used duct tape - horizontally sticking out. you can use anything you can find to secure the spool on the end - i stuck a ball of that gummy stuff you use to put up posters in dorm rooms. MastiffMomQlt
Hey Chris! No dumb questions. I found a 'locking pin' from Tractor Supply for $2.50 that I duct taped to the top of my machine. It doesn't look as nice as the ones from here, but it works great! Busy Quilting
I really like the vertical spool holder from APQS parts. It means I do not need to go to the back of the machine to change my threads. I would use it for the samall spools too, as with the horizontal spool holder I found the end kept working its way off.
