barbm
I\'m planning on coming - want to be included in the Shop Hop - if I can get someone to come with me from the Pacific NW, then I\'ll drive and can fit five, including me, in my Grand Am. Mary Beth
I will be checiking to see if the shops will have different hours during MQS, sometimes they do. If not, we will need to get together to see what time works best...never fear, we still have time...
Grammie
I love the Kansas Show. It is so much fun but such great gals to meet. We still have a ways to go before the show is here but it will be here before you know it. I hope all of you get to come.
Stagecl
Just made my hotel reservation at the Marriot Courtyard. Can\'t wait. I missed both shows last year. Hope to meet many of you there! Cheryl
Grammie
Oh boy Cheryl, I\'m so thrilled you get to come. We will have lunch on me if your classes permit. Can\'t wait to see you again. Grammie
annlittle1
The catalog online is for the 2007 classes. At least that\'s what my computer says. I refreshed it twice to be sure. Mary Beth, you already have your catalog? Mine hasn\'t come yet. I think its a conspiracy so that I can\'t go!!! DH must have gotten to someone! Anyone else received their catalog already? barbm
I downloaded the catalog last Friday and it is definitely the 2008 version. Then Saturday I got the printed catalog with my membership materials. Phyllis, are you absolutely sure that you went to the proper link for the 2008 show? It may be different than the 2007 show. http://www.imqa.org/MQS2008/MQS-Show.htm
Stagecl
Tammie... I don\'t mind going dutch:P for lunch...LOL...it will be good to see you again. Anyone going to the banquet? I don\'t know if I will be going. I first need to see if they will accommodate a vegetarian. Cheryl
PJDavis
I need to jump in. Received my MQS Catalog over a week ago, looks like I could take alot of these classes. I live in Maine, not far to drive for one day. Am not crazy about going by myself. Any suggestions?
Mary Beth
I bet you are talking about MQX - Overland Park, Kansas is more than a "not far to drive for one day" for you, I think But we would love to have you!!
Stagecl
PJ, I am flying...I\'m not crazy about long drives. I think we have AirBus Airlines now at the Richmond Airport. It is a low cost airlines...you pay for a lot of things that would normally be provided. You pay extra for checking luggage (stuff like that). I have heard that with all the extras it probably would come out around $40 one way...not sure if this is really true, but I am going to check it out. I think I have to fly into Columbus, OH then down to KC. It doesn\'t matter what airline I fly I will still have to make a connection somewhere (boy, I hate that). I\'ll stop rambling now and go back to quilting. Cheryl
QUILTERCAC
We had a traveler come through KC recently and she said she left her dirty clothes behind so she could take more fabric home. There\'s Wal-Mart everywhere for more clothes!! I\'d love to meet up with all of you as well. I live in Olathe, just outside KC, so I\'m happy to drive as well as we go "hoppin!" nineva
There IS a vegetarian menu. I clicked on the banquet and it brought up the whole menus. Sounds pretty good to me. Check it out online! Nancy
ramona-quilter
Oops, my bad. Carol Wiles (IMQA Membership chair) just corrected me on the Hilton Inn not being a "breezeway" away from the convention center. It is close but not that close. Thanks, Carol. I did check the Sheraton rate just now thinking that maybe I could get a good deal at the Sheraton like the Hilton. Uh, no. The Sheraton was running $179 a night; I did not check to see if there was a quilter\'s discount though. I\'ll just keep my $89 room at the Hilton, thank you very much. Think of all the money I\'m saving...more for shopping. Cha-Ching $$$. I also found that the Hilton shuttle to the airport is $26 which sounds way better than the rental car I got in June...I got so lost. I would never have made it to my BIL house in Gladstone(?) without Hawkeye (Mary Beth) leading me down the freeway.
JenMcManus
Linda, There is a Sheraton MQS rate, but you have to call them directly. I think it was about $79 when I booked it last week. Maybe it\'s still available. Good luck!!!!! Jen

Jeanne, Renae, Carla, Tammie and Deb were there with us and all those rowdy Gammill dealers at the next table. That was some good eating. I would also like to sign up for the quilt run - shop til you drop event in KC. Maybe we should rent a bus. We probably could not afford a bus. My car rental in June was normal but the airport fees that they tack onto the car rental were sky high. I guess KC has to pay for that new airport somehow. That is the coolest airport I have ever seen. It is definitely built with the traveler in mind. Oh Yes, our meeting at Jack Stacks was a highlight of my week. I also would love to join in a shop hop. I\'m hoping to drive and have a car. Oh my, that 10-hour drive was horrible, but loved having a car! See you all there! Tammie and I will be staying at the Sheraton. So let\'s get some plans going on meeting spots--I know we spent a lot of time at the bar at the Sheraton. Great place for catching folks coming and going. Mary Beth
Wow, this is too much fun...we may actually have a plan this year and not fly by the seat of our pants!! That bus for hopping is sounding better all the time...humm...I wonder if my BIL who works for National Car Rental can cut me a deal...I know he loves my Chicken and Dumplins....I\'m thinkin.... Stagecl
The rate at the Sheration is $124 plus tax. I called yesterday. There is also a no cancelation policy on the rooms that in the MQS block. If you book there make sure you aren\'t needing to change days. JenMcManus
Ooops, you\'re right! The special rate is $124. I just checked my reservation. Sorry! Jen
Phyllis
I\'d like to join you all! I\'m driving and have room for 7 including myself. I think that I\'ll stay at the Sheraton this year...much more convenient. Been looking at the catalog and have 3 classes in mind, so far.
shadows4
I can also take 7 besides myself. I also have Betty Lou still. Maybe she won\'t be as cranky this time about "recalculating". Maybe Mary Beth will get us an OATS van!!! Better start cooking!!
barbm
I understand that registration for MQS for IMQA members begins on Dec. 1st. Does that mean that the online registration will open up then? Or should I fill out the paper registration form, mail it, and hope that it arrives first, so that I get the classes I want? I\'ve got my eye an half a dozen "hands-on" classes, and I know they fill up fast!
JenMcManus
I filled mine out and mailed it in last week. I noticed on the form that there was a place for them to put a postmark date, so maybe they are going by that. Just guessing. Jen
Mary Beth
I registered last year on-line and it was done - poof! - just like that!! I am going that route this year also. Works for me!!
