sewlinzi
Here's my RWB show quilt for a competition with the theme of "Flying Colours". Think RAF, sky, flying geese, clouds, feathers, Red Arrows jets etc... There is a dodgy bit of tension on the back and there is a little pucker, there should have been Trapunto and ruler work but there just wasn't, there should have been lovely flowing feathers but there weren't. The gold rick-rack is hiding a very nasty stem. I could say that "Formal is Passe" but I love formal - just can't pull it off myself! What I have instead is rambling shells things, some weather fronts, spirals and casual cross-hatching and one red, white and blue kaleidoscope out of my system and one more quilt done! Pics are of the quilt in its almost finished state held up by 2 young quilt handlers...

Quilting Heidi
Linzi I think you are too hard on yourself! It came out lovely and I love all your ideas of ideas for the theme! I just wish I thought like that! Beautiful job. To load multiples you have to have the files on the web first, like web shots.
Pam H
All I can say is WOW. They remind me of propellers (sp?), I can see them spinning. I love the border. You are so creative. PamH

cmoore1223
Don't be so hard on yourself. You're a very talented and creative quilter. I love the quilt. I'm with Heidi, I wish I tough like you. I can follow pattern very well but I'm not terribly creative.
sewlinzi
Thank you! I think I just need to tell myself to remember that instead of cursing formal feathers for not behaving, I should just decide to be a wayward quilter instead! JoleneK
Its always frustrating to have an idea in our head and not quite orchestrate them on the quilts. Your quilt turned out beautiful and the judges will never know what the "first" idea was. Good luck in the show, you've got a winner!
Stagecl
I think it turned out well. Remember we are our own worst critics...we see everything that is wrong when we should be looking at all the good things.
quiltmonkey
Wow Linzi what an eye catcher this is! It looks like it could spin and take off and fly all by itself! Really stunning. Best wishes to you with the quilt show.
