Mercedes
My dryer vent in my garage (which is my sewing room) was driving me crazy - very noisy. So now I'm an expert on redoing dryer vents. I went to the Hardware store and purchased everything I needed to install a whole new vent. Had to cut a 4" round hole in the siding and plasterboard, install the outside venting piece and then the new piping to the dryer, then cover the old outside/inside holes. All in all, it took about 1 1/2 hours after I had the parts. The vent is now closer to the bottom of the dryer, no longer is one of those squishy round noisy aluminum vents but a solid square vent that is a space saver. I've completed the plasterboard patch and hope to sand and texture the spot within the next few days. I am not expert on dryer vent installation and have a much quieter sewing room - YIPPEE! I can do amazing things with a little duct tape, paperclips and whatever else is near, especially scissors (not my quilting shears). Way to go Mercedes!!
