gable428
Anyone out there like to use Bottom Line as a top thread?
LinneaMarie
Not me! I like the heavier threads. Once in a while I will use So Fine on top if it is the right color. I love Bottom line in the bobbin though! I'm just no help, am I??
gable428
Linnea Marie, you are a help! It will be interesting to see what people say. I like heavier threads once in awhile. I'm going to load some muslin and play around with Bottom Line on top just to see if I like it. Thanks for the reply!
ffq-lar
BottomLine as a top thread--absolutely! It is my thread of choice if I need a blender. It is strong and has a bit of sheen, but not enough to grab your eye. I have a nice stock of So Fine in neutrals as well and use both with good success. Mrs.A
I did a whole quilt with Bottom Line in the top and bobbin. It's great to use such a thin thread when you're doing a pattern with a lot of backtracking or a very tiny stipple. Now I use silk instead when I do that type of work. I just prefer the look of the silk. Have fun playing with the Bottom Line!
Zora
I am working on a quilt now using Bottom Line in the background fill for micro work. Its great...gives texture, but barely shows at all. It blends in very well with the fabric and doesn't give a thready look. You need a smaller needle, though..or the thread doesn't fill the needle hole. I personally prefer it over So Fine for tight background fill. witha'K'quilting
I have used BL as a top thread quite often. Works beautifully! Ditto to everything Linda R said!
Georgene
For ditch stitching, I prefer BL on top instead of invisible thread. I used BL exclusively, top and bottom, on my wholecloth quilt, with a small needle.
