kennan100
As the Aunt of a soldier in Iraq, and the "Aunt" one one bound for Afganistan I highly recommend this practice. It's not political. it's gratitude! Have you ever seen one of our military walking past you and wanted to convey to them your thanks, but weren't sure how or it felt awkward? Recently, a gentleman from Seattle created a gesture which could be used and has started a movement to get the word out. Please everybody take just a moment to watch.... The Gratitude Campaign; .......and then forward it to your friends! THEN START USING THE SIGN. You'll have to copy and paste to view. http://www.gratitudecampaign.org/shortmovie.php

Gator
Finally a gesture that we can be proud to share. I live in the largest concentration of military in the world (I also work on a Navy base), I think my arm will get tired in a good way, LOL

LinneaMarie
I cry every time I see someone in uniform, and when I try to say "thank you." Maybe this will save some tears!

RitaR
The sign they are using is actually a Thank You sign from the Americal Sign Language. It speaks worlds, and I will now use it when the soldier is too far away for me to shake hands with... and personally tell them Thanks and God keep them safe.
