quietlifeaz
Do you have any suggestions for quilting an I spy, hexagon quilt?
LadyLake
You could do a large swirl in each hexagon. Are you looking for panto or custom ideas?
quietlifeaz
I was hoping panto (short turn around, baby quilt, doesn't want to spend a great deal on quilting)....
LadyLake
That is really a cute quilt. There are others on the Forum more up-to-date with kid's pantos, but I have always liked Anne Bright's patterns.
Quilting Heidi
I wonder if you just did cc's all across if that would work and not take too much time.
quietlifeaz
Thanks ladies....I really like the swirl idea from a hexagon perspective, but the more I looked at it the more I was afraid it would hide all the fabulous "spy items"....so I was thinking CC as well. I have gotten pretty fast at it and should be darn good by the time this one is done!
Kueser
I've done several of these for one of my customers. and did cc's in the blocks. She liked the circular pattern that developed on the back.

Corey
I love Hexies (as Modern Quilt Guild call them). Cc will look good like Heidi's idea as welll as large swirl inside the Hexies. I've done them both ways, went pretty fast. Corey

LadyLake
It must feel great to have the customer finish the quilt so soon, and care enough to send you a photo. She must like your work a lot!
quietlifeaz
I knew when I took in this quilt it had to be finished (including binding) by 09/29. The custome found out on 09/21/2011 that they were having a work baby shower for her boss, who's wife is due 10/09 .....the shower was 09/29. she sent a plea out to my new "guild" group --- and I jumped on it as a way to get the word out about my new little business. So it was a risk...and breaks all the rules on "rush orders" but I need to generate some buzz..... sorry this picture is sideways but I can not seem to get it to rotate
