I ended up turning it twice to do the sides - I have learned I can't do curved crosshatch upside down. At least I wasn't going to "learn" on this quilt! I don't know how to be faster on custom quilts... you have to go thru every step, basting, SID, etc. and it takes time, patience and concentration... At least for ME it does!
