GrandmaLKB
A friend send me the link to this article. I thought it was a good one. Something that has been discussed here many times. http://huntersdesignstudio.com/2012/11/08/whats-it-worth/
calicokat
Very well stated. And I had never even thought about how we pay for a man's "craft" without batting an eye (woodwork & cabinetry are a great example!), but belittle "women's work" so. Anne from Guam
True very true. We need to build up our team. Don't set your prices too low! When YOU start to believe that your work is valuable, other people will fall in line. I like to show someone a very very simple baby quilt and explain time and cost. Then when they look at a custom quilted queen size quilt, they can understand why it costs a handsome amount. There are people in this world who always want to get something on sale, and there are other people who believe the more something costs the more that it is worth!!! I'm looking for the latter group. RitaR
This strikes a bad taste for me, but in another way, such as human anatomy. Mens "parts" have cutsey name, joking names, but Womens "parts" all have nasty, mean derogative names. Makes me rather angry, always has.
