shadywood Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Finally moved into the new studio. It\'s about 20\' x 30\', so I have lots of room - finally! At the old house, my machine was in the formal dining room, and stuck out into the entry way!
shadywood Posted March 19, 2008 Author Report Posted March 19, 2008 Trying again with the actual picture attached!
happy quilter Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Congratulations Betty! I was fortunate I had a room large enough in my house or it would have been the front room for me too! My first customer came and picked up her quilt yesterday and she loved it!
kennan100 Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Congratulations on the new studio! Can ALWAYS use more room!
chickenscratch Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Oh, I\'m jealous. My room is 10 x 14. It is jam packed.
DoryJM Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Wow, Betty...what a great room! I love all your bookshelves! And what did you use to attach your batting to the bottom of your table? That\'s an efficient use of space. We gave up our bedroom, so my Millie is in a 13 x 17 room. It works out okay, even though I have to share the space with my husband for his business. Good thing I like him!!
PattyJo Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Am I missing something, like a picture. I don\'t see one. Is it on your blog?
Mary Beth Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Thank you Patty Jo....I have tried everything...gone to the blogspot...gone to the web site...I don\'t see a thing....what are we missing??
Katydids Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Click on this link and it should take you to her studio. http://www.shadywoodquilts.com/studio/IMG_1951a%20.jpg
Mary Beth Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 it worked! Very nice studio. I need those book cases. Thank you Patty for getting me there!
ramona-quilter Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Betty, wow, lots of space. I could do ballroom dancing in there. Well, not really, I would probably fall down alot. But it is a great space. And I love those bookcases. Nice. I just moved my studio, too. My old one just had one door; this one has 3 doorways (no doors) and a patio door. It has been a challenge to keep the dog and cat out. I\'m still not sure how to keep the grandkids out. Little fingers get into everything. I\'ll figure something out before I start dragging out the customer quilts. DoryJM - the batting roller comes standard on Gammill machines. But my last APQS Ultimate I also had a batting roller under the table. It really is handy.
Sheri Butler Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Congrats on the new studio! Now you have room to FLY thru those quilts!! My hubby is making me a batting bar for my table as we speak. He\'s purchased the pipe from Menards in their electrical dept. (conduit). I say "hey, whatever works!"
PattyJo Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Beautiful space and I would love all those shelves. I agree with Linda C. Ballroom Dance lessons, then to your house to dance!!!
SYork Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I wanted a bar for my batting too. We tried PVC pipe but it wasn\'t big enough. My husband thought conduit would not be strong enough for the weight of the batting. (I use Warm and natural a lot). I will be curious to see if the conduit works. Please post your results.
judie01 Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 That workroom is wonderful! Love those bookcases. Did you have them made? Katydids: I just have to say how exquisite the Christening Gowns! Are you sure? That kind of loving skill is so special. Hate to think of that being lost to those who can appreciate. Thank you Judie
