LinneaMarie
Here is a quilt I want to do a special job on. It deserves it! I was going to SID the stars and everywhere, then outline quilt the leaves in the stars?? Anymore suggestion are welcome! Thanks!!:D

LinneaMarie
This might be perfect for Circle Lord???
BethDurand
My 2 cents say to do some sort of spiral design through the pieced triangles rather than trying to outline individual leaves. I agree to DID around the stars and the sashing. I'd draw you a picture, but I don't know how to do so on the computer. Someone else will chime in here quickly though, I'm sure. TerriVB
Linnea Marie---What a pretty quilt--and oh the possibilties on this one!!! I have the QZ and would use my "Little bit of everything" template to do these--but if you have the Aztec and the CL you should be able to put the 1/4 outline the stars and then some 1/4 outlineing of the circles and then just use leaves instead of feathers--and read what the design of the leaves are. Some looked like they filled the whole diamond piece and others looked like they formed a wreath around the star. Didn't have an idea for the background pieces right now--but maybe just a fill with matching thread would be nice to showcase the stars! Again--what a great quilt--have fun with it!!! LinneaMarie
This pattern is called Starz, Starz, Starz by Shirley Stutz. I took a class from her. These stars are cut from one piece of fabric, slit in half lengthwise with 8 repeats; to make 8 points. They are fun and ADDICTING!!:P
cblevins
The "piecer" in me wants to start one of these right away, it is so pretty. This definately goes in my favorites. Cheri Blevins

Neher-in-law5
Nice ideas, Terry. Come on down to my quilt, I need some fresh ideas there too. I do mine on George (table model,) so am not working on a frame. Nice quilt. Good piecing.
Butterfly
Your background fill will probably be the thing that shows up the most so make it shine. Jessica
LinneaMarie
Ya think? I thought the stars would show best, but you are probably right, the background is gonna make the stars pop.
LinneaMarie
Should I do all 12 stars the same?? Or each one different?
Mary Beth
Linnea Marie, You know there is a CL Quilting Contest going on....I'm just sayin'
LinneaMarie
yes, Mary Beth, I know! I was thinkin' along the same lines!!! I mean, same templates!! lol :P
Susanne.Hughes
I agree with Terri on her designs............ there seems to be a "swirl come twirl" movement when you look a the stars. I would outline the Outside of the star only, then treat the centre so the movement remains. I like the leaf treatment of the sashings as well.... fits in well with the overall fabric. Whatever you decide, have fun! It is a beautiful quilt. Regards,

JustSewSimple
I love the piecing and the colors. I also love what Terri suggested. It does just give me the somewhats to know that Terri can draw on the computer better than I can quilt!
anniemueller
I love what Terri suggested too. I see feathers that fill the triangles and squares between the stars, something like this, only better;)
TerriVB
Annie--I like the feathers with it--I don't usually mix feathers and leaves unless I am doing a vine type applique--but I really like it with this--gives it some more softness to all the pointyness of the stars. ...and Sylvia--I have seen some of your posts--and you can quilt beautifully too!!! LinneaMarie---You have some great inspirations here to get started on that show quilt!!!!
LinneaMarie
I don't know about "show", but I am thinking Circle Lord Challenge! I'll sleep on it tonight (not really, it's on the frame!) and be ready tomorrow morning! Thanks for all your help and input!!:P
