using silk

Recommended Posts

I quilted an all-silk quilt a couple of weeks ago. I used Bottom Line in the top and bobbin; and Superior Threads metallics in the top with Bottom Line in the bobbin. The batt was Quilters Dream poly select loft and the backing was a high thread count muslin. I had no problems and actually think silk fabric quilts up easier than regular fabric. I use a slightly damp cotton cloth to brush holes closed.

Thanks ladies,

You were a big help. I had looked at Superior THreads but it does not hurt to look again. I am starting this quilt later this week. Just needed some encouragement.

By the way Joan, I am originally from Blue Earth, MN. I still have many relatives there and around Minneapolis.
