When I got my machine it took about 4 hours to set up from start to finish with my sons helping. Don't worry, the assembly directions are great and you'll have no problem. Have fun! No worries about the set up I had the same set up experience as both Heidi and Carol. The instructions are the BEST I have ever worked with. She was my beginning student for about 2 days, & just took off running with her quilting. And yes, we will welcome all you Mainlanders who want to come help her set up the machine, give us lessons, or whatever.
