quilt done!!

This is all about the quilt with the fusing on front and back and the back was pieced like a picture frame. I did it! Thanks to Linda and Lisae for the good suggestions. I couldn't have done it without the help. It came out lined up nicely. I stitched the centers of the flowers, some petals & leaves with bright gold metallic thread. The birds I did in a less bright gold metallic (both fom Superior). I stitched around most of the designs with threadsthat matched. She had fused a lot of design on the borders. I stitched a bird in opposite corners of the border. This is my first try at crosshatching anything larger than a pie plate. I was up to my ears in alligators. It was fun. But, what a challenge for me. I hope she likes it!!

To crosshatch I used a piece my dh made. A 25" piece of acrylic about 2 " wide with a piece of plastic pipe ( cut so it fits over the bar) attached to it. It doesn't have any measurments on it so I drew a couple of lines with a sharpie. It wasn't perfect but I think it looks pretty good. In some places it wasn't long enough so I used another guide to go the rest of the way.

You folks are great. I don't have anyone nearby to keep me out of jams. thanks
