imquilting
I am about to replace the wheels on my Millenium. Just curious, in the past I saw a few after market or other types, so I thought I would check with you! The experts! Also I would like to know if you ar using zippers, Lead.Grips or Renae Hadedin's Red Snapper
Zora
I have M&M wheels which I purchased from APQS. Huge difference. I have zippers which I love. I can take projects on and off and they go back on the machine easily in the exact same way they came off.... so when I was doing customer quilts, I could work on a section my own in between if I wanted to. Now that I am doing primarily my own I can take off an intense project and work on something else if I need a quick gift or while I wait for inspiration or motivation. I love them. I use my DSM to sew the backing to the leaders. Its quicker than pinning by a little bit..and no pin sticks. I did not like my friend's Red Snappers because I found them to get in the way and you need extra backing to avoid that. Personal preference because many love their Snappers. Marti10245
I have M&M wheels also and I like them but I am thinking about maybe changing to the bliss system. But I have to save my pennies for that lol. I have red snappers, I like them but you do have to have extra backing fabric and they do get in the way. I still pin my quilts alot. I would like to get zipper leaders for my Millie.
Sharon Deming
Love my zippers, and love my Bliss!
LisaC
I have M&M Wheels and zippers along with another leader that zips up and has Red Snappers on the other side. I love the luxury of having both Red Snappers and Zippers. For quick projects I use the snappers and for lengthy projects I use the zippers so I can take it on and off easily. SYork
I have a set of 3 zippers for a 14 foot table that I would like to sell. I have added leadergrips to my new milli but they do take extra fabric and they do get in the way.
zeke
I have M&M wheels as well. Did have Edgerider's, but the M&M are better. Smoother. I guess I'm still in the stone age, I still pin. Zeke Old habits!?!?!?
Gail O
I'm with you Zeke. I like pinning. It's a bit of quiet time to visualize my quilting plan (or second guess dumb ideas).
Gator
I have M&M wheels, zippers and red snappers. Love them all. My wheels were changed when I had the IQ installed.
Quilta93
I guess I'm still in the stone age, I still pin. Zeke Old habits!?!?!? Zeke you have more than one machine. I have zippers and pin to them. If I have sheets to practice on, I can take it off easily and put a quilt on. Deb.
imquilting
Thanks everyone! I appreciate the input. I ordered the Red Snapper, but I am now curious how you can switch between them and zipper leads? Sounds like most are using the M&M wheels. Ordering that next! fullfrontalquilts
I have a Bliss system, and I have used pins for 13 years. I have a steady queue of tops to quilt and never had a reason to switch between them.
