dancing bear
From skin to skin as they say ... how long from Millennium in the box to fully set up?
quiltingjoyful51
It takes about 2 - 3 hours if you follow the directions. We put the table on saw horses so we aren't on the floor putting the tubes together.
Nadia Wilson
Depends on how mechanically inclined you are...and if you have a second set of hands to help out (sometimes a helper actually makes the set up take longer :D:D) I can set up a Millie with power fabric advance in under 2 hours, however I have done it a few times. quiltingjoyful51
Nadia ,I know what you mean about a helper not always being a helper.

Sharon M
took me and hubby 3 days!!! :P okay, not really.... an hour one night....an hour the next night.... oh, and I was glad he was around.... such a perfectionist! perfectly level, perfectly square.... probably wouldn't have been that good if I had done it alone! Good luck with your setup! When does Millie arrive??
quiltlover03
Although my Freedom is no Millie (one step down) I set everything up by myself in 5 hours. My helper were my kitchen chairs for center frame support. But it helps to have another pair of hands.
dancing bear
interesting info. i was thinking this was going to be a week-long process ... several hours a night for a week. helper is truly a helper and a perfectionist ... and we're both engineers which could help us or hurt us. . BOI will get info on monday and we go from there. so how long after that will machine arrive? no idea.
rrteach
It took myself and my highly intelligent but not mechanically inclined DH, two afternoons to put it together. The directions were better and it went together easier than the New Joy frame I had before it.
VictoriaG
My Millie took one afternoon to go together. I read the directions.. LOL I didn't expect the two men helping to do that part. I thought the directions were pretty good. But if you run into any thing you can always jump on the forum and someone is sure to help. Mary Beth
The first time we set mine up it took 2 evenings....oh, and I heard words I had not heard since high school :P Now we are old pros...we have moved my machine twice and taken the head off the table about 3 other times, so we are good at it now. We can set up a machine lickety split now with hardly any vocabulary involved :P

Quilting Heidi
It took hubby and I about 4 - 5 hours to set it up. Just remember to take it one step at a time.
meg_marsh
The first time it took DH & myself about 4 -5 hours including the overhead lighting and hydraulic lift. Now it takes about 3 1/2. With the hydraulic lift, it takes a bit longer because you have to double level.
CWBowser
It took me and a friend 3 hours to set it up. Make sure you have the right tools and follow the manual that comes with it. The pictures are great and the boxes are labeled with the contents so you know where everything is. It took less time the second time because we didn't take it all the way apart. When the machine comes, if it is being transported by an outside carrier like Fed Ex, open the box that holds the plexiglass table top and make sure it isn't broken before they leave your property. That's what they told me from the factory and it was fine. Have fun and go slowly but you will have it up and running in a few hours. DawnCavanaugh
Dancing Bear, Be sure to review the "addendum" page in the manual...a few minor changes have occurred since I first wrote it, and the changes are listed on that single sheet. Call us if you have any troubles!
seakitten
The first time, it took me & my friend (another old lady, but more mechanical than me) two LONG days. When I had to more it, I hired two very smart & strong young men, & they got it done in less than an hour. BUT, they could see how it went together. Bonnie
Haven't put mine up yet....tomorrow maybe, but I can tell you it takes about an hour to tear it down and get loaded to move.....
dancing bear
appreciate the input. so it takes about 4 hours ... hmmmm ... so i'll figure on 12 and hope for the best ... figure it will take a couple of hours to read the manual ... another hour or two of 'discussing' where and in what position IIIIIIIIIIIII want it - but i'm already dancing my way through THAT discussion!
CWBowser
You will do fine. The manual is excellent. Dawn did an excellent job with the manual. The pictures really help. Charlotte
Gator
Should take you around 3-4 hours. I think the majority of my setting up time was adjusting the wheels. Like Dawn said read the manual and if you have a 10FT table there is no "strut" it's a solid rail. If you have any problems which you shouldn't we're here to help.
