MarieBrewer
Sylvia called and asked if I could have two star quilts done by tomorrow. I said no. Could I have 5 done by Friday (it's Wednesday). I said no. She tried to find someone else. She brought me two and I had them done Friday. Called her & she said she'd call after work. Two weeks later, I'm waiting to hear from her!!!! Argh!!!!! ffq-lar
See Sylvia. See Sylvia badger her friend the quilter. See Marie step up to help her friend. Poor Marie! See Sylvia wonder "wha happened" after Marie drop-kicks her off her customer list. :D:D:D;)

lyonden
OH Marie!!! I've had those also. I finally put a $50.00 expedite fee on the quilts (each) that people need "right away". You'de be amazed at how many quilts aren't quite that important after all. My husband gets mad at me at times but I figure that for a baby quilt you have 9 months, a wedding you can see coming on, a high school graduation you have 12 YEARS, etc. etc. I guess it's really time for me to retire isn't it? Most of my customers are really sweet though, and I don't mind them at all. By the way, I work from a list made as they bring their quilts to me. I work right down the list. Fair for everyone. Stagecl
There are always a few in the bunch. I agree with Carol...once you start putting a rush fee on an order the quilt isn't always needed. Besides, don't other businesses charge a rush fee?

seakitten
Well, I DID do a rush job for a girl who eloped (and her mother REALLY did a rush job on the piecing), but OMG! my own niece is graduating next month & the 12 years has been no help to me at all.
