witha'K'quilting
Here is my first attempt at a non sr panto. Double Plume by Keryn Emmerson. The pattern was designed Quilt Talk's Ann Smith. She designed the mystery to look a bit different...the circles would have been crosses...but I liked the circles better. I went the scrappy route..of course! I also did something that is generally shunned upon in the quilt world. I used a cotton/poly blend sheet for the background and backing fabric. I wanted to play around with a busy background...and wanted a quilt that I could throw in the van and that could survive alot of washings. I generally do not do pantos...but thought for this quilt...the pattern would look good. I am pleased with the results. Now to trim and bind...and start using! quiltmonkey
Great job!! PS: Backers? Who cares what you use for the backer. It's your quilt anyway... besides, there are no "rules"
JustSewSimple
That is one of my favorite pantos. The texture on your quilt is fab!!!!!! Your rounded ends are nice and fat - looks wonderful!!!

sewcrazy4quilting
Your stitches look great for non sr. Very even, and nice round curves. Looks really good!!!
witha'K'quilting
Thanks Kim. I was motivated to try it after reading a topic that Janette posted a question about. I will certainly try non sr mode for pantos again.
quiltinginthecountry
That quilt looks wonderful. Wow...on the "No SR Mode".
Starrynight Quilter
Kristina, that is one beautiful quilt. I must say, you have the rhythm girl....beautiful work.
KarenH
I love the quilt! I have this same panto and have been using it as practice. Your plumes are so nice and round, mine not so much! Maybe next time I will try non SR.
witha'K'quilting
Don't worry so much about staying on the lines of the pantograph...as much as concentrating on making round feathers. that helped me. That...and thinking about all the blessings in my life lately.
Quilting Heidi
Kristina, Your stitches look really nice. Great job and your quilt came out really nice. I agree there are times to break the rules and the sheet seems to have worked just fine.
Neher-in-law5
that is a nice looking quilt. I, too, am admiring the fine, even stitching in the quilting. You do some good work. Thanks for sharing it.
connieb
I like it. What is the name of the panto?
Guest Linda S
You did a nice job, and I think your stitches look great - heck, they'd look great if that was your stitch regulator doing it, but in non-stitch-regulated mode, they're excellent. Very nice.

KathG
Kristina, your quilt is lovely and I would not have known that you had used a sheet. I say if it works go for it. Your non SR panto looks great also !!!!
Janette
Kristina, I am loving your quilt, and quilting. That pantograph always quilts up very well, and the white thread makes it look so fresh !!! I am surprised that I got a few people considering non SR mode for pantos on my other post, even though it was in my own desperation of not having my SR working that I did it for myself. I would not have done otherwise !!! You are right though, it is not as scary as you think once you get that speed and rhythm right.
JoleneK
Great quilt, I really love it. And very impressed with your Non-SR results. We've gotten spoiled with SR and lose trust in ourselves to handle Non-SR mode.
LinneaMarie
Great job!! Beautiful quilt! I think that panto came with my machine. I might get brave and try what you did. I can't seem to get the hang of pantos. Maybe the chirp of the SR is what sets my teeth on edge. Ok, I'm gonna throw on a practice piece. Thanks!
