Quilting Heidi
Well easier to cut the backer down that to be short!
Littleshoes
I Love when this happens! Last few quilts I've had the backing of the batting has been way too short and that doesn't make for a happy camper here.
meg
Originally posted by doodlebug i was referring to how much more backing i had than i needed...... oopsie...my bad. i knew i liked it! and really, after our convo last night, i shouldda put that together. (slapping forehead in an attempt to stir some brain activity) steal that extra backing and make my man barney a christmas outfit.... i think he would be marvelous in a colorful onesie with a tasseled hat....and perhaps some booties....just because. heck, you got so much there you can make matching outfits for barney and lucky and you could send one to my frannie, too. he deserves it.:cool::cool:
CindyT
Rather too long than too wide. Cute Grinch top though.

ffq-lar
Well, that should be enough backing..... An embarrassment of riches! I just loaded a 48"x60" applique top. She gave me a 122"x122" wool batting to use. I called her and she said someone recommended wool and that was the only one she had on hand. She now owns a piece of wool batting 122"x70" and another 52"x 58". Smooch that noodle dog for me!
GrandmaLKB
Much better to have way too much than come up short a few inches or more !
CWBowser
I would much rather have more than less as far as the backing is concerned. Will your customer allow you to trim it down to a more manageable size?
