Omega QW
I like the 60 degree diamonds for the blocks, but I don't know what to do with the border except piano keys. I think that feathers would be lost. I'll appreciate any suggestions. Do you think I should do the sashing or just leave it alone? Sometimes less is more. michellegibson
I think I would do a freehand swirl around the border.......
RoseCity Quilter
I find borders like this one hard to know what to do with. I often resort to bead board.....
delld
I would do bead board on this as well!
Anne from Guam
I would do a piano key border but instead of straight lines, I would use squiggly lines.
Primitive1
I agree, it is busy so anything fancy would be lost, you just want to add texture so I'd go with either beadboard or a meander of some kind.
Enchanted Quilting
Squiggly bead board would be great. Another option would be to do a connected square block motif around the outside. It is a super cute quilt!
Quilting Heidi
I agree bead board. I like Charlotte's idea of using a squiggly line.

anniemueller
I'm going to stick up for feathers. I don't think that fabric is too busy. I can see some nice big feathers on a wavy spine.
Bonnie H
Annie, is that a new profile picture? I like it!
anniemueller
Annie, is that a new profile picture? I like it! Yes. I made this self portrait (quilt) in a class at the Jackson Hole Quilt Festival last year. It's taught by Carol Ann Waugh. If you ever get a chance to take her class, she's a lot of fun. It's my look from the 90's. Remember spiral perms? It's got some of the jewelry I actually wore a lot back then :-))))
LibbyG
I vote for beadboard, too.
Omega QW
Well, how do I say it? I don't know what a beadboard is. Is it a special attachment? What kind of design does it make? Thanks for all suggestions.
witha'K'quilting
Beadboard is straight lines running out to the edges, with a spacing generally 1-1/4" with 1/4" echo or so. it resembles wainscotting on a wall. Piano key is similar but does not have the close echo.
Omega QW
Well, it appears that I have a vocabulary problem. I guess beadboarding is what I call double piano keys and what I call single piano keys is one line instead of two close together. Thanks for all the responses and ideas.
